Understanding Primary vs. Secondary Mailboxes in CommuniKate
🔑 What Is the Primary Mailbox?
- Your Primary Mailbox is your main account, using your Kate toll-free number or Kate email address (ending in
@katewwdb.com) for login.
- Only the Primary mailbox has access to account management tools like billing, cancellations, and adding a Secondary mailbox.
- The Primary mailbox shares its CommuniKate number, contacts, and contact lists with the Secondary Mailbox.
👥 What Is the Secondary Mailbox?
- A Secondary Mailbox is for someone else sharing your IBO number (like a spouse or business partner). It has a separate login but is connected to your main account.
- It must use a different web password and security code than your Primary Mailbox.
- Messages, contact lists, and voicemail greetings are not shared between mailboxes.
- The Secondary Mailbox is set up and managed by the Primary account holder.
🛠️ How to Set Up a Secondary Mailbox
- Go to https://login.katewwdb.com/ and log in with your Primary account credentials.
- Click My Account at the top right.
- Select Account Information from the menu.
- On the left side, select Secondary Account.
- Fill in the required information for your Secondary user.
- Assign a different password and security code than your Primary mailbox.
- Click Create to finish setup.
🔄 Messaging Between Primary and Secondary
A special contact called Partner is automatically created when you set up a Secondary Mailbox. Use this contact to message between mailboxes.
⚠️ Important: Do not add your own CommuniKate number as a separate contact. The system only supports one listing of your number.
If the From name isn't displaying correctly, check your contacts:
- Delete any duplicates with your Kate number.
- Add back the Partner contact if it was deleted.
