Charges for Downline Accounts Using Your Credit Card
📝 Overview
Sometimes uplines allow a downline to use their personal credit card to set up a CommuniKate account. While this may seem like a quick way to help someone get started, it creates billing and account management issues later.
If you provided your card to a downline at sign-up and were subsequently billed, review the info below.
💳 Why You Were Billed
- ✅ You authorized charges to that card.
- 📜 The downline's account was created under the CommuniKate Terms & Conditions, which state that subscription fees are billed to the payment method on file until the account is canceled.
- 🔑 It is the responsibility of the account owner (or the person who provided the card) to make sure the payment information is updated or removed, or that the account is properly canceled.
🚫 Refund Policy
- ❌ Refunds are not offered for past service.
- 📜 Per Section 14 of our Terms & Conditions:
"Subscription Fees are not refunded when canceling, and a current Monthly Service Charge is not prorated to the date of termination or refundable for the current billing cycle month after the date of termination."
- ⏳ This applies even if the downline stopped using the account or left the business.
🛠 What We Can Do to Help
- 🔐 Remove Your Card
- Contact Support with the last 4 digits and expiration date of the card provided.
- Once verified, we will remove your card from the downline's account.
- 📴 Close the Downline Account (if no longer needed)
- The downline (as the account owner) can request cancellation via the app, website, or mailed letter.
- If they are unavailable, Support can provide guidance.
⚠️ Important Reminder
Please
do not use your personal payment information to enroll downline accounts. Each account holder should use their own card to remain responsible for their own billing.
This prevents:
- 💸 Unexpected charges to your card
- 🔄 Billing disputes
- 🛑 Difficulty canceling or transferring responsibility later
