Outlook 2013 E-mail Setup

Below are the settings for adding your CommuniKate e-mail account to Outlook 2013.

  1. Click File, then Add Account.
  2. At the Auto Account Set Up screen, select Manual setup or additional server types, then click Next.
  3. Select POP or IMAP, then click Next.
  4. Enter your Name and FULL e-mail address.
    Next to account type, select IMAP.
    Next to Incoming mail server, enter mail.securekate.com
    Next to Outgoing mail server (SMTP), enter mail.securekate.com
    Enter your FULL e-mail address next to Username.
    Enter your e-mail password next to Password.
    Check the box called Remember password.
    Click the More Settings button.
  5. Click the Outgoing Server tab.
    Check the box for My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication.
    Select Use same settings as my incoming mail server.
  6. Click the Advanced tab.
    Next to Incoming Server (IMAP), enter 993 and select SSL as the encryption type.
    Next to Outgoing Server (SMTP), enter 465 and select TLS as the encryption type.
    Next to Root folder path: enter Inbox
    Click OK.
  7. Click Next.
  8. Outlook will test your settings. Once the test is complete, click Close.
  9. Click Finish.

Outlook 2010 Email Setup

Below are the settings for adding your CommuniKate e-mail account to Outlook 2010.
  1. Click the Office button, located in the lower-left corner of your taskbar and select Info.
  2. Click the Account Settings drop-down menu, then select Add Account.
  3. Check Manually configure server settings or additional server types, then click Next.
  4. Select Internet Email, then click Next.
  5. Enter your Name and FULL e-mail address.
  6. Select IMAP in the Account Type drop-down menu.
  7. Next to incoming mail server, enter mail.securekate.com
  8. Next to Outgoing mail server (SMTP), enter mail.securekate.com
  9. Under Login Information Enter your FULL e-mail address next to Username.
  10. Enter your e-mail password next to Password.
  11. Check the box called Remember password.
  12. Click the More Settings button.
  13. Click the Outgoing Server tab.
  14. Check the box for My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication.
  15. Select Use same settings as my incoming mail server.
  16. Click the Advanced tab.
  17. Next to Incoming Server (IMAP), enter 993.
  18. Next to Use this following type of encrypted connection drop-down menu select SSL.
  19. Next to Outgoing Server (SMTP), enter 465.
  20. Next to Use this following type of encrypted connection drop-down menu select TLS.
  21. On the Add New Account page, click Next.
  22. After Outlook 2010 tests your account, click Close.
  23. On the Congratulations page, click Finish.
  24. On the Account Settings page, click Close.

iPhone Email Set Up Instructions

Configure iPhone/iPad for CommuniKate mail.

You can use the exact same mail server settings for your DBIS address too!

1.Tap Settings
2.Tap Mail, Contacts, Calendar.


3.Tap Add Account…:
4.Tap Other:
5.Tap Add Mail Account
6.Fill in your account information. Address is your full email address.
Tap Next
7.Make sure that IMAP is selected.
8.That will bring you to the screen where you need to enter additional information. This is one screen but you need to scroll it up and down to fill in all fields.
In the sections Incoming Mail Server and Outgoing Mail Server Host Name, enter mail.securekate.com
For both incoming and outgoing mail servers use your full e-mail address for User Name.
Also make sure you’ve entered the password for outgoing mail server - it’s the same as for incoming.

Tap Next to verify your account information. Be patient, this verification does take time!
Tap Save.

Android Email Set Up Instructions

Configure your Android for CommuniKate mail.

You can use the exact same mail server settings for your DBIS address too!

Android 4.3 Jelly Bean

1.From the Home screen, tap Email.
2.Tap Menu, then Settings.
3.Tap Add Account.
4.Tap Others.
5.Enter your full e-mail address and password.

You can check the Show Password box to verify you have entered your password correctly.

Tap Manual setup.

6.When asked What type of account is this, select IMAP account.
7.Enter the incoming server settings.
IMAP server: mail.securekate.com
Security type: SSL
Port number: 993
Tap Next
8.Enter the Outgoing SMTP settings.
SMTP server: mail.securekate.com
Security type: TLS
Port number: Change to 465
Ensure Require sign-in is checked
Username: your full email address
Password: your email password
Tap Next
9.Select the Email checking frequency dropdown and choose an email checking frequency.
If desired, ensure the account options are selected: Send email from the account by default. Notify me when email arrives.
Tap Next
10.Enter an account name and the outgoing message name.
Tap Next
